Lucky Us!!

Lucky us!! We had a special visitor today!! It was....

THE RUGBY WORLD CUP!!!

...and a Hurricanes player - Reggie Goodes!

We were so lucky that we were one of four schools in Wellington that had the chance to have the RWC visit our school!

Noah and Dana telling us about the RWC and how important it is to NZ.

We were all very excited about the things they were saying!

But we sat up beautifully when we heard there were chances to win prizes...

Reggie brings in the RWC Trophy!! (Notice the gloves!)

We had the chance to ask him any questions we liked.

The lucky children who won prizes.

Grace was lucky to get to hold the trophy (with gloves of course!)

Lucky Miss Graham got to have her photo taken with a Hurricane!!

Drawing with Jane Lloyd

Today we were lucky enough to go to the hall to have Jane Lloyd teach us some drawing skills! We listened carefully to Jane to follow her instructions, step by step.

This is what we were drawing

Once we had completed our outline we were ready to shade in some of the shadows we saw.
We had to practice first!
"It's like a tornado"
"You hold your hand in a funny way - different to when you are writing"

We then got to do the real thing on our pictures!

Here is the final result!
Step 1
